On Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, PBS documentary series POV was honored with three statues at the 27th annual IDA Documentary Awards.

POV won for Best Continuing Series, "Nostalgia for the Light" won for Best Feature and "Better This World" was honored for Best Music. Premiering in 2012, "Nostalgia for the Light" looks at Chile's remote Atacama desert. "Better This World," which premiered in 2011, tells the story of Bradley Crowder and David McKay, who were accused of intending to firebomb the 2008 Republican National Convention, and is a dramatic tale of idealism, loyalty, crime and betrayal.

POV is the longest-running showcase on television to feature the work of America's best contemporary-issue independent filmmakers.
In total, PBS programs received nine IDA Documentary Award nominations, including six for POV, two for MICHAEL FEINSTEIN’S AMERICAN SONGBOOK and one for AMERICAN EXPERIENCE.
