'Downton Abbey' Cast Receives Three SAG Award Nominations

On December 12, 2012, nominees for the 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced, recognizing outstanding film and television performances in 2012. PBS congratulates MASTERPIECE and the cast of "Downton Abbey" for earning three nominations. Winners will be announced during a Jan. 27 ceremony in Los Angeles.


The cast of MASTERPIECE CLASSIC "Downton Abbey" was recognized by the Screen Actors Guild with a nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series. In addition, Michelle Dockery ("Lady Mary Crawley") and Dame Maggie Smith ("Violet, Dowager Countess of Grantham") both received nominations for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.


"Downton Abbey" returns to PBS for a third season beginning Jan. 6, 2013 at 9 p.m. ET (check local listings). This season, the Great War is over and a long-awaited engagement is on, but all is not tranquil at Downton Abbey as wrenching social changes, romantic intrigues and personal crises grip the majestic English country estate.
