Web Visitors to News Coverage, PBS KIDS sites and Educators' Materials Fuel a Remarkable Month
ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 7 -- Breaking an all-time traffic record for the fourth consecutive month, PBS.org reached more than 318 million pageviews in March 2003, a ten percent boost over February's pageviews. Also in March PBS.org received nearly 30 million visits -- a 42 percent increase over February's figure.*
Biggest draws to the PBS site in March included coverage of the war with Iraq, PBS KIDS content, as well as classroom materials for educators. For the first time ever, every "supersite" within PBS.org also broke pageview and visit records in the same month: March saw new all-time traffic highs for PBS KIDS Online (www.pbskids.org), PBS TeacherSource (www.pbs.org/teachersource) and PBS Parents (www.pbs.org/parents). (Statistics for these "supersites" are included as part of the overall PBS.org traffic figure.)
