PBS Recognized With Six Primetime Emmy® Nominations

PBS programs received six nominations for the 72nd Annual Primetime Emmy® Awards. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced the nominees on Tuesday, July 28 during a live virtual event hosted by Leslie Jones on Emmys.com.

The critically acclaimed documentary series AMERICAN EXPERIENCE received a nomination for CHASING THE MOON in Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking. AMERICAN EXPERIENCE films have earned a total of 30 Emmy Awards over the years.

AMERICAN MASTERS received a nomination in Outstanding Documentary or Nonfiction series for the seventh consecutive year. The series has been honored with 76 total Emmy nominations and 28 wins.

The Primetime Emmy® Awards, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, will broadcast on Sunday, September 20, 2020, 8:00 – 11:00 p.m. ET on ABC.
