On April 2, the University of Georgia’s Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication announced winners for the 73rd Annual Peabody Awards for the best in electronic media for 2013. PBS programs received 12 awards including ones for THE CENTRAL PARK FIVE, FRONTLINE "League of Denial: The NFL’s Concussion Crisis" and five for films from INDEPENDENT LENS and POV. This is a record for PBS programs and more than any other broadcast organization this year.
The Peabody Awards will be presented during a ceremony hosted by Ira Glass on May 19 at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York.
