PBS Nominated for 54 News & Documentary Emmys®

PBS programs received 54 nominations for the 37th Annual News & Documentary Emmy® Awards, the most earned by any organization. The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) announced the nominees on July 21, 2016. The awards honor programming distributed during the 2015 calendar year. 

PBS programs receiving multiple nominations include FRONTLINE (18), INDEPENDENT LENS (8), NATURE (8), PBS NewsHour (6), NOVA (4) and POV (4). A complete list of PBS nominations is below. 

“At this moment in our nation’s history, we feel a renewed responsibility to use our platforms to educate, engage and inspire our audiences,” said Paula Kerger, PBS President and CEO. “In addition to providing outstanding factual and science programming, we seek to convene conversations about the most important issues of the day through our news and public affairs work, as well as our documentary films.
