ALEXANDRIA, Va., February 20, 2002 -- The Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) has promoted Tracey L. Beeker, director, licensing and marketing, to the newly created position of vice president, strategic partnerships and licensing. Ms. Beeker reports directly to Judy L. Harris, executive vice president, PBS Business & Development.

"Tracey's commitment to the public television mission, combined with her extensive marketing background and results-oriented style will provide PBS with a new resource to call upon in serving our diverse business and development needs," remarked Ms. Harris. "She brings a wealth of knowledge to this position from both the client and industry side that I know will prove invaluable."

Since 2000 Ms. Beeker has been responsible for product development and marketing for merchandise, home entertainment and publishing. She now adds to her duties the cultivation of national and local alliances that support program underwriting efforts, as well as the enhancement of national sponsorships to include local community connections through PBS member stations. The national sponsorship team and Corporate Support department of PBS will report to Ms. Beeker. She will also work closely with the PBS Sponsorship Group, public television's national underwriting sales force, which includes partners at local stations across the country.

Ms. Beeker first came to PBS in 1996 when she was appointed associate director, marketing for home video products. Between 1998 and 2000 she held increasingly responsible positions at Feld Entertainment and CINAR Corporation before returning to public television. Ms. Beeker holds a B.A. from Florida State University and has done graduate work at the University of California in Los Angeles.
