Arlington, VA; July 15, 2014 -- PBS today announced that veteran digital production executive Scott Nourse has been named Vice President, Product Development, PBS Digital. Reporting to Ira Rubenstein, Senior Vice President and General Manager, PBS Digital, Nourse will lead the digital product team, driving all new digital product development for PBS. Nourse most recently served as Senior Vice President of Production Operations at Sony Pictures Interactive. He will be based in Arlington, Virginia.

“Scott’s vision and leadership will supercharge our development of products, enabling PBS and member stations to serve audiences with the kind of high-quality content they have come to expect from PBS,” said Rubenstein. “PBS and local member stations have long been innovators in using media to educate and entertain, and we’ve been extraordinarily successful in reaching new audiences via our offerings across digital platforms. With Scott’s help, we will continue that success.”

As part of PBS Digital’s senior leadership team, Nourse will oversee all aspects of product development across PBS Digital. He will manage the internal product development department as well as external consulting relationships in support of PBS Digital’s product needs.

Nourse brings nearly two decades of digital design and production experience to his new role. At Sony Pictures Interactive, he was responsible for strategic planning and day-to-day operations of production, design, technology and product development in support of the studio’s online and mobile marketing efforts. Prior to joining Sony Pictures in 2002, Nourse was president of the Austin, Texas-based digital agency, Deeply Superficial Productions, where he managed creative services for clients such as Visa USA, Turner Network Television (TNT), American Movie Classics (AMC), The Starbright Foundation and the United States Postal Service (USPS). Prior to his tenure at DSP, Nourse was executive producer at American Cybercast, a Los Angeles-based subsidiary of Grey Advertising, where he produced the ground-breaking “webisodics” “The Spot” and “Project EON-4.”

“I am thrilled to be joining PBS and look forward to helping the organization and public media system leverage the power of digital media and technology to serve the American public,” said Nourse. “PBS’s growth in the digital space is exploding and I can’t wait to get started working with this talented team.”
