Arlington, VA, December 3, 2019 —PBS today announced that Maximilian Duke has been promoted to the newly created role of Vice President of Station Strategy and Development. In this role, he will create and execute strategies for building station capacity, supporting leadership development and enhancing critical skills for station staff members.

“Max is a proven leader who has extensive experience working with local stations to expand across new platforms and enhance digital infrastructure,“ said Jim Dunford, Senior Vice President, Station Services. “We are focused on engaging audiences when, where and how they consume content. Having Max take on this expanded role will help PBS and the entire system remain a vital and valued resource for millions of Americans.”

Duke began his 20-year public media career at PBS member station WPBT2-South Florida PBS, where he developed and implemented the station’s digital media presence. He later went on to serve as the station’s VP of Content and Community Partnerships. At PBS, he has played a central role in helping local stations navigate the new digital age through various initiatives such as the Digital Immersion Project. Funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, this program provides station staff with the skills, techniques and strategies they need to sustain and grow their organization’s digital operations, content creation, analytics and marketing efforts.

Most recently, Duke served as Senior Director of PBS’s Station Products & Innovation team. He is a graduate of the University of Miami.
