"Sesame Street" Tops PBS List of Multiple Nominations With 12 Emmy Nods
New York, March 13, 2002 - PBS was honored with more children's nominations than any other broadcast or cable network at this morning's special ceremony at New York's Rainbow Room, and overall tied for second place in total number of nominations in all categories. With a grand total of 49 nominations overall, 43 of those were for PBS KIDS® programs.
Many PBS series received multiple nominations, with SESAME STREET leading the way with 12 in all. Other multiple nominees included:

In the non-children's categories, besides THIS OLD HOUSE, the Academy honored LIVE FROM LINCOLN CENTER and THE FACE: JESUS IN ART, actually distributed by American Public Television (APT) . The 29th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards presentation will be broadcast on CBS from Madison Square Garden on Friday, May 17 (9-11 p.m., ET). The show will be produced by CBS Productions with Dick Clark of dick clark productions (sic), Inc. serving as the executive producer. The Creative Craft Daytime Emmy Awards, primarily for the creative arts categories, will be presented on Saturday, May 11, in New York at the Marriott Marquis Hotel and in Los Angeles at the Century Plaza Hotel. Emmy Awards are presented to daytime television programs that are broadcast nationally between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 p.m. The eligibility period for this year's Daytime Emmy Awards was January 1, 2001 - December 31, 2001.
