PBS APPOINTS LOREN MAYOR VICE PRESIDENT, CORPORATE PARTNERSHIPS

ARLINGTON, VA, June 18, 2008 - Andrew Russell, Senior Vice President, PBS Ventures, announced today that Loren Mayor has joined the staff of PBS as Vice President, Corporate Partnerships. In this position, Ms. Mayor manages PBS' revenue-generating activities, such as national sponsorships, licensing, program underwriting and other areas. Her responsibilities also include the identification of large-scale market opportunities, potential private sector partners and market-entry options. In addition, she will facilitate partnerships, negotiate transactions and establish the corporate structure framework for new business opportunities. Ms. Mayor reports directly to Mr. Russell.

She brings extensive experience and leadership in public service media and a deep dedication to the PBS mission. In her new role, she will help move us forward in strengthening PBS's service to America's citizens by expanding its resources and capabilities."

Ms. Mayor joins PBS from the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), where she worked for nearly five years, beginning in 2003 as Senior Project Officer, Media Strategies. She was promoted several times, ultimately to Vice President, Media Strategies and Technologies, in 2007. During her tenure, she provided strategic planning, business model analysis, policy guidance and financial analysis to the public broadcasting system, including PBS, NPR and local stations.

Prior to this, Ms. Mayor served as a consultant at McKinsey & Company from 2000 to 2003, advising senior management on strategic, financial and operational challenges primarily in the non-profit and media sectors.

Ms. Mayor holds a Ph.D. from Northwestern University, a Master's Degree from the University of Minnesota and a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Chicago.
