June 6, 2007, Arlington, VA - The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB) and PBS (Public Broadcasting Service) are pleased to announce that twenty filmmakers have been chosen to attend the seventh annual CPB/PBS Producers Workshop to be held at WGBH in Boston, June 16 - 22, 2007. The goal of the Producers Workshop is to engage a new talented pool of diverse producers in public broadcasting.
The Workshop received over 185 well-qualified applicants for this year's seminar. The producers were chosen based on their work experience, professional goals, video presentations, current production projects, and recommendations from industry professionals.
The Producers Workshop covers a range of production skills and draws on the expertise that has made PBS a recognized force on the American cultural landscape. The CPB/PBS Producers Workshops are open to public broadcasting station staff producers and independent filmmakers who are involved in or wish to work in public broadcasting.
Recipients' travel and other designated expenses will be covered by the Workshop.
